El 12 de febrero de 1981, Rush lanzó su clásico noveno material de estudio, Moving Pictures. El álbum contiene temas imprescindibles de la banda como ‘Tom Sawyer’ o ‘Limelight’. Este año (en el que se cumplirían 41 años del material) se celebrarán los 40 años del disco con distintas reediciones que incluyen una gran cantidad de material inédito y remasterizado, así como un nuevo álbum en vivo, entre muchas otras cosas.
Estas ediciones de lujo se dividirán en seis paquetes que llegarán en abril. La edición super deluxe incluye tres CDs, un Blu-Ray y cinco LPs, que incluyen el álbum y los 19 temas de una presentación inédita de 1981, grabada el 25 de marzo en Maple Leaf Gardens en Toronto.
También se incluirán en los distintos paquetes un libro con arte del diseñador Hugh Syme, unas baquetas como las que utilizaba Neil Peart, pósters y boletos de conciertos, plumillas de metal con las firmas grabadas de Geddy Lee y Alex Lifeson y más mercancía, así como notas de músicos como Taylor Hawkins de Foo Fighters, Kim Tahyl de Soundgarden y Les Claypool de Primus.
La banda liberó un video que ilustra el extenso catálogo de discos y mercancía que incluirán estos lanzamientos que celebran 40 años de Moving Pictures.
